If the client donates $5 I will add another $5 to my donation. Giving $20 to benefit the featured charity or non-profit organization. The donation might be small but every penny counts!

Mar/Apr – Human Rights Campaign (HRC)

May/Jun – World Wildlife Fund (WFF)

Nov/Dec – Rotated

Since there were not enough suggestions, November and December will feature each non-profits/charities. I will rotate each one every week. However, I’m still open for suggestions for one more option. Feel free to contact me.

Last month I started the Studio Onyx Cares program to give back to charities and non-profit organizations that do so much for others when they are in a time of need. I’ve thought about what I could do to make this program more successful.

On January 5, 2009, I tweeted on Twitter and posted a status update on my Facebook account asking followers to provide a name of a charity or non-profit organization. From these responses I will compile a list and each month will feature one in the SOC program. Just like the current organization, The American Red Cross for Haiti Relief, for any new projects I receive during the month I will donate $10 from the sales and if the client donates $5 I will add another $5 to my donation. Giving $20 to benefit the featured charity or non-profit organization. The donation might be small but every penny counts!

The Choices So Far

Human Right’s Campaign (HRC)

Suzan G. Komen for the Cure

World Wildlife Fund (WFF)

Juvenile Diabetes Association (JDF)

In the end I would like to feature at least one different charity or non-profit organization a month. That means six more months are open. If there is a charity or non-profit you would like to see contact me via Twitter or Facebook.

At the end of this month I will have complied the full list and figure out which charities or non-profits will be featured for the rest of the year.

Good day everyone. Changes are occurring here at Onyxone of those new changes is here! Studio Onyx is happy to announce Studio Onyx Cares. You’re probably wondering what SOC is all about, aren’t you?

When I worked for Big Y Foods, Inc. for seven years they had a program called Community Campaign, which let employees of the company to choose a charity of their choice and donate to that charity. Each year I would donate and support a local AIDS foundation. Donating to my local AIDS foundation made me feel good. It wasn’t a lot of money, but it was something and I knew it was going to a great cause.

On January 12, 2010 at 4:53PM a massive earthquake with a magnitude of 7.0 hit the nation of Haiti, causing damage inside and around the capital city of Port-au-Prince. Since that day our President and other countries are working together to rebuild the damage that was caused buy this horrendous event.

There are plenty of ways to donate and I want to help. This is why I’ve started the Studio Onyx Cares program. From now until the end of February I will donate $10 to the American Red Cross from the sales of my newest projects. However, if you donate $5 I will add another $5 to my donation making a total of $20 to benefit Haiti.

This is just the first step of the Studio Onyx Cares program. There is much I want to do that I need to get straightened out first though. Check back at a later date for more information! Together we can all make difference.
